Flowers Baltic Cruise Apr-May 2022

There were beautiful flowers everywhere we went. When I left home (Iowa) there were no leaves on the trees yet so I was delighted to see spring blooming in every port we visited.

This first set of images are primarily from a garden space in Stockholm Sweden. We were at the bus stops near the water in front of the palace and noticed the pots of tulips. There were dozens and dozens of tulips in pots, each one labeled with the name. Other flower pots decorated the edges of the green space.

The blue flowers in the first image intrigued us because they were so unusual. They were in a pot in the center of Copenhagen. I would love to know what they are.

Flower market, Old Town, Tallinn, Estonia

The following images were taken in Tallinn, Estonia. We were in Old Town, the original walled area, and this flower market was a full block long. The colors were incredible and the variety of flowers caused us to spend almost an hour just walking along, saying: “Look at this one!”

The ones that resemble onions were blooms that had been wrapped in netting so they didn’t open before the buyer was ready. We wondered briefly how anyone expected to sell all these flowers in a timely manner, but later in the day while we were people watching, we saw flower bundles under the arm of almost everyone who was striding by to the bus stop.
