Blog Tradition – Mine Doesn’t Work

Happy New Year!

It’s New Year’s Day and I just discovered that I hadn’t touched this blog since this time last year. Poor pitiful blog 🙁

I woke up with a non-hangover headache. I was so tired of 2016 that I sullenly waited until 1 minute after midnight and went to bed. No TV, no celebration drink, no excitement. I read 3 pages in on 3 different books and just couldn’t muster any interest.

The one thing that remains consistent though, is my exciting plans for my own sites. Ideas for posts happen daily, sometimes several at a time. I get all excited and make goals for the coming year. The reality is uglier – I logged in this morning with an idea and see that my last post was this time last year. Sigh.

Blog Resolution

Advertising note: When I link to businesses and / or products, I make a real effort to get paid for that advertising. It doesn't change my opinion, but you should know that I might be paid for my referral.

I wonder how many office supplies I will purchase with lofty goals in mind when the truth is I had to reset my password to do this. Well, since hope springs eternal, I’m making a resolution (it is the day for it, right?):

2017 will see this blog develop a following while I develop my lifestyle blogging voice. Another blog of mine will be reconfigured and developed as a business voice and my shopping site and my housing site will get enough attention to generate some $ again.

Now I have to decide on a theme for this site and check Amazon for a combo whiteboard/bulletin board for the wall above my monitors.

Blog Reality

Do you use Yoast? The SEO tool? We use it at work and I really like it – at least until I finished this post and it told me how pathetic the writing is. “Passive voice” “Too many words in 26% of the sentences” “No keyword focus”.  So I went back and added the headings and this paragraph. LOL

Adding about nine more words should also help the score.
